For over fifteen years, all Lechler products in the Refinish Catalogue comply with DIRECTIVE 2004/42/EC OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 21 April 2004, concerning the limitation of emissions of volatile organic compounds due to the use of organic solvents in certain paints and varnishes and vehicle refinishing products.
In an effort to further mitigate the environmental footprint of our products, as well as their impact on safety and health, some products have now also been identified through a universal and cross-business Product Sustainability Index at Lechler (Product Sustainability Index).
As specified in the initial section, this category of products, in addition to meeting the regulatory compliance specifications mentioned above, offer an additional level of sustainability. This approach exceeds the minimum requirements and represents a deep commitment of the company to promote innovative and planet-friendly solutions.
Among the products meeting these requirements today, those with "Waterborne" technology stand out in particular, where most of the solvent content is replaced by the most sustainable raw material possible; WATER.
The constant research by Lechler laboratories led to the development in 2022 of a completely water-based painting process, capable of minimizing the emissions of volatile organic compounds into the atmosphere and representing today the most environmentally sustainable process, consisting solely of PSI products!
Here is the complete and detailed list of PSI products.
