CONAI is a private not-for-profit Consortium that Italian packaging manufacturers and users make use of to guarantee the achievement of recycling objectives and recovery of waste packaging as required by the law. For the past 15 years, it has been an effective system to recover, recycle and make the most of packaging materials in steel, aluminium, paper, wood, plastic and glass.
Since 2012 CONAI has been a member of the National Council of Green Economy.
In 2016 Lechler obtained an important acknowledgement for the secondary packaging of basic paints in the Hydrofan system. The award was handed during an event that was powerfully highlighted by the media at the Milan Triennale Exhibition - competition “Making the most of environmental sustainability of packaging”
Lechler participated in the Ecodesign 2023 call with the containers used for interior and exterior water-based paints manufactured at the company’s facility in Foligno. The packaging created contains a high percentage of plastic from recycled industrial waste (90 - 95%, depending on the size).
