Colour is a language that continues to evolve. Technological, cultural and artistic changes have always influenced the domestic landscape in our homes and surrounding environments. The analysis of past products revealed that significant colour changes are recorded in cycles which means that general colour preferences for the near future can be predicted with a fair degree of accuracy.
Defining new scenarios is an essential aspect of Color Design and contributes to determining the quality of home environments, architectural features of buildings and the commercial success of an industrial product.
The Color Design Project by Lechler, organized in partnership with the industrial designer Francesca Valan, provides indications, suggestions and technical information to make choosing colour and finishes easier.

Dr. Squinzi President of Federchimica (Italian Association of Chemical Enterprises) and Dr. Aram Manoukian President of AVISA (Italian Association of Paint Inks producers) stated with worries to the economical press, that the current situation is going beyond 2010 end of the year forecast. Mr. Jan van der Meulen, President of CEPE (European federation of Paints and Inks producers) confirmed this statement at European level. The main reasons have to be put down to a strong increase on the Extra European demand of Chemicals and also to a reduction of some raw material production capacity , very important raw materials for the paint products due to the plant renovations after the 2008/2009 economical crisis. Just to give an example, if we consider Titane Bioxide, in the last year have registered more than a 30% increase whilst for acrylic and epoxy monomers in the last six months the price increase goes above 20%.

As a consequence the paint prices, which have been increased at the beginning of this year, are estimated to grow on at least for the next 12 months.
