Aram Manoukian, our president and CEO, as well as president of Confindustria Como, withdrew the honour of the "Merit of Labour" Order from the hands of President Sergio Mattarella, while being hosted in the Quirinal Palace on the occasion of the ceremony by which the award to 25 Knights appointed on June 2 was conferred.

In 121 years of history 3 thousand knights representing the Italian business world have been awarded. The honour is recognised to entrepreneurs who stood out for making a significant contribution to the growth of economy, labour and welfare.

Aram Manoukian was presented as president and CEO of Lechler, a family company manufacturing paints for the industrial, nautical, construction and furniture sectors.

The entrepreneur from Como has led Lechler's growth with acquisitions and the constitution

of foreign commercial offices between Europe and Brazil, 70% exports and four factories, three of which in Italy, with overall 590 employees.

After the ceremony Aram Manoukian commented: "In a complicated context as the current one, doing business needs to hold on to higher values. It takes courage, willpower and energy to face situations that are enormously greater. Being able to share all this in an institutional context along with other knight entrepreneurs is of great help, despite the variety of business experiences. In this sense, the President's words were like those of a father who gives encouragement ».

Even President Sergio Mattarella, while greeting the new Knights of Merit of Labour, highlighted company's contribution to the country's civil growth through innovation and creation of jobs: "Investments, experience and trust build a sense of community: a primary factor that helps us in the most difficult moment and allows us to proceed faster in the growth phase ».
