Dr. Squinzi President of Federchimica (Italian Association of Chemical Enterprises) and Dr. Aram Manoukian President of AVISA (Italian Association of Paint Inks producers) stated with worries to the economical press, that the current situation is going beyond 2010 end of the year forecast.
Mr. Jan van der Meulen, President of CEPE (European federation of Paints and Inks producers) confirmed this statement at European level.
The main reasons have to be put down to a strong increase on the Extra European demand of Chemicals and also to a reduction of some raw material production capacity , very important raw materials for the paint products due to the plant renovations after the 2008/2009 economical crisis.
Just to give an example, if we consider Titane Bioxide, in the last year have registered more than a 30% increase whilst for acrylic and epoxy monomers in the last six months the price increase goes above 20%.

As a consequence the paint prices, which have been increased at the beginning of this year, are estimated to grow on at least for the next 12 months.
